The privilege of being heard in our brokenness, as private persons, is wonderful. Together we confess in our worship, and we are absolved. Private confession is the time and place to confide to God in the presence of His representative, our priest, those sins and that pain at the bottom of our unique personhood.
Martin Luther said, "If private confession were rightly practiced, the people would run a hundred miles to receive it.
In hymn lyrics we find, Oh, what peace we often forfeit. Oh, what needless pain we bear. Thats too true.
Our Father (Abba) invites us to come into His private confession with our tears, guilt, shame and fears, to hear His amazing grace and love applied to each of us
