Welcome to St John in the Wilderness!
Welcome! We have a place ready for you at St. John in the Wilderness. Please sit and share the fellowship at our table. Ours is a community where young and old worship together and walk in love, where we serve each other and where we are fed and filled. At St. John's, we provide a spiritual home for children, youth, and adults as they travel on their journey of faith through the wilderness of human experience.
Through God's grace and guidance, your faith journey has brought you to us. Perhaps you are looking for a Spirit-filled community. Perhaps you feel broken and seek healing. Perhaps you have been searching for a balance of tradition and openness to new ideas. Whatever the reason for your visit, our hearts greet you warmly in Christ's love. We're happy to share with you the wonderful ways God is working through and with us at St. John's.
Who We AreWe are a growing, open, and friendly intergenerational church -- a safe refuge in a busy world -- with a sense of family and small town atmosphere. Our strengths are in faith formation, education, and outreach. We deeply value children, youth, and parish activities with participants of all ages and from all of our Sunday services.
We are Christians in The Episcopal Church, members of the worldwide Anglican Communion. The Episcopal Church is a branch of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by Jesus Christ with his Apostles. It is part of the Anglican Communion, a worldwide fellowship, with its roots in the Church of England. It is a Universal or Catholic Church, continuing in the teaching, fellowship, sacramental worship and prayers according to the apostolic tradition. It is a Church of the Protestant Reformation, firmly rooted on the foundation of Holy Scripture and believing that the Bible contains all things necessary for salvation. It is an Evangelical Church, proclaiming Christ Crucified and Resurrected and affirming the need for a personal relationship with Him. It is a Compassionate Church, bringing the grace and hope of the Gospel to every area of life. As members of the Church, we are all ministers of the Gospel, representing Christ to this broken world, bearing witness to His Love, leading others to faith in Him and according to the gifts given us, carrying out His work of reconciliation.
