All of the women attending St. John in the Wilderness
Church are automatically members of the
Episcopal Church Women (ECW). And all are welcome and invited to
participate at any time in our events and board meetings. Please call a
board member if your have concerns or questions. (The church office can
provide our phone numbers -- 651-429-5351). We
want to continue to be active and to grow!
These are some of the activities we are involved in:
We make kids quilts to give to local police and fire
departments. These come in easy to assemble kits. (See examples hanging in
our Parish Hall).
We put on a great Fall Birthday Luncheon at the North Oaks
Country Club and a Spring Luncheon at Rudy's Red Eye Grill. (See our
calendar for dates).
For 52 years we have hosted an annual Holiday Bazaar
with many craft items, baked goods, treasure trove items, gently used
jewelry and a luncheon and a quilt raffle.
We also host an informational Bible Study during Lent with
outside speakers or our on site clergy. This is open to both men and
women.
We give many Grants each year Locally, Nationally and
Internationally.
We have a biannual Rummage Sale on the 1st weekend of
October and May to recycle our treasures and to raise money for our grant
giving.
