Welcome from Our Children's Minister!
Thank you for your interest in the Children's programs of St. John's. My name is Sheila Foster and I serve as the Children's and Youth minister at St. Johns. We have many formation opportunities for children and youth in our church community—please check out our brochure of Children and Youth Programs for 2011-12!

Spark Summer – Splash in God’s Word
Vacation Bible School for age 3—grade 5
$15 / child, max. $30 / family
Vacation Bible School (VBS) includes art, music, science projects, storytelling, food and fellowship! Each day in Spark Summer focuses on a Bible story about water. Two stories are from the Old Testament, two are from the Gospels, and one is from Acts. We will all become part of the story. Each day also has a theme word to help kids focus on a concept from each story. Look for the theme word to be woven into the activities for the day in all sorts of ways. We invite adults and Sr. High youth to be leaders, and Jr. High youth to be helpers. We need many volunteers with many different gifts. Children's Ministry Committee
The Children's Ministry Committee is made up of all the teachers. The tasks of this committee include organizing the Sunday School program, teacher recruitment and training, curriculum selection, Vacation Bible School and other children's ministries. The staff person for Children's Ministry works closely with chair of the Committee. Other activities of Children's Ministry include Family Fun Nights, Mardi Gras party, back to school nights, and Advent crafts.
