The Song of Zechariah
Benedictus Dominus Deus
Luke 1: 68-79
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, * for he hath visited
and redeemed his people;
And hath raised up a mighty salvation for us * in the house
of his servant David,
As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, * which have
been since the world began:
That we should be saved from our enemies, * and from the
hand of all that hate us;
To perform the mercy promised to our forefathers, * and to
remember his holy covenant;
To perform the oath which he sware to our forefather
Abraham, * that he would give us,
That we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies *
might serve him without fear,
In holiness and righteousness before him, * all the days of
our life.
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the
Highest, * for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his
ways;
To give knowledge of salvation unto his people * for the
remission of their sins,
Through the tender mercy of our God, * whereby the
dayspring from on high hath visited us;
To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the
shadow of death, * and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit: * as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
The Song of Simeon
Nunc dimittis
Luke 2: 29-32
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, *
according to thy word;
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, * which thou hast
prepared before the face of all people,
To be a light to lighten the Gentiles, * and to be the
glory of thy people Israel.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit: * as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
Christ our Passover
Pascha nostrum
1 Corinthians 5: 7-8; Romans 6: 9-11; 1
Corinthians 15: 20-22
Alleluia. Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us; *
therefore let us keep the feast,
Not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and
wickedness, * but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Alleluia.
Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; * death
hath no more dominion over him.
For in that he died, he died unto sin once; * but in that
he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto
sin, * but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Alleluia.
Christ is risen from the dead, * and become the first
fruits of them that slept.
For since by man came death, * by man came also the
resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam all die, * even so in Christ shall all be
made alive. Alleluia.
The Song of Zechariah
Benedictus Dominus Deus
Luke 1: 68-79
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; * he has come to
his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior, * born of the
house of his servant David.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old, that he would
save us from our enemies, * from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers * and to remember
his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham, * to set
us free from the hands of our enemies,
Free to worship him without fear, * holy and righteous in
his sight all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most
High, * for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
To give his people knowledge of salvation * by the
forgiveness of their sins.
In the tender compassion of our God * the dawn from on high
shall break upon us,
To shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of
death, * and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit: * as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
The Song of Simeon
Nunc Dimittis
Luke 2: 29-32
Lord, you now have set your servant free * to go in peace
as you have promised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Savior, * whom you
have prepared for all the world to see:
A Light to enlighten the nations, * and the glory of your
people Israel.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit: * as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; *
death no longer has dominion over him.
The death that he died, he died to sin, once for all; * but
the life he lives, he lives to God.
So also consider yourselves dead to sin, * and alive to God

Christ has been raised from the dead, * the first fruits of
