Field Trip

On Sunday, March 3rd we have been invited to attend a church service at Church of God in Christ Pentecostal Church in Minneapolis. we will be leaving during the educational hour for this event. This trip is geared for Senior High students, but if you are in Junior High and would like to attend, please talk to Alison.

30 Hour

Famine

Trinity Episcopal Church in Excelsior is holding a 30 hr famine event March 8th-10th. Students receive pledges to go hungry for 30 hrs while participating in activities to learn about people in need. The money raised goes to World Vision. If you are in 6th-l2th grade and are interested in attending, please get registration materials from Alison.

Lenten

Series

The Lenten series will begin on February 20th will continue to run each Wednesday night from 6-8 pm until April 17th. The 5th-7th graders will explore "Lessons of Lent" by Mark Zimmermann and the 8th-12th graders will be studying the theme of "Forgiveness."

BINGO

BINGO is Saturday, March 16th at 1:45pm. Meet at the White Bear Lake Care Center for some nail biting BINGO action. This event is open and encouraged for both junior and senior high.

If you are interested in singing for the Rite of Affirmation service on March 10th, please be at church on Sunday, February 24th at noon. We will choose and work on a song for the offertory at that time.

Christ (TEC)

Great Northern TEC in Duluth - March 15th-17th 

St. Paul TEC - April 19th-21st

Spring TEC is just around the corner. The weekend is full of spiritual discussions, music, and friendship. I will be attending both weekends and can provide rides going to Duluth if that weekend works best with your family's schedule. I encourage calls from parents or interested participants so that I can give a more detailed explanation of what a TEC entails and answer your questions before you register. I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Confirmation

A reminder that the second-year confirmands will be serving lunch at the People Serving People shelter on Saturday, March 23rd. We will leave from St. John's at 10:30am. Please RSVP to Alison by March 1st if you plan to attend.

Rev. Hoover will be meeting with the group of Second Year confirmands on Sunday, February 24th during the educational hour.

Maundy

Vigil

The Maundy Thursday vigil is open to 8th-12th graders and is an integral part of the confirmation process. Those attending should arrive at church at 6 pm on March 28th. we will be attending the 7pm service together and then taking a short break before the 8:30 youth-planned service begins. After the youth service we will be taking shifts in the garden to await Jesus' resurrection. Youth will be ready to be picked up at 10 am on Good Friday.

The Junior High Youth Group is invited to come together on Thursday, March 7th from 5-7:30 pm for a movie mixer. We will be watching "Simon Birch" over pizza and popcorn with a discussion to follow.
