Super
Bowl
Senior High Youth Group will be
meeting at Elizabeth Schmit's house for our next meeting on Sunday, January 26th
to watch the Super Bowl together. The action begins at
5 pm. Don’t worry if
you don’t follow football, there are always plenty of fun commercials and a
half time show to watch. Please bring a snack to share.

Mission
Trip
There
will be a meeting on March 9th during the educational hour to decide
on specific dates and location for the summer mission trip. This meeting is for the youth planning on
participating and their parents. The mission trip is open to those entering
9th grade - college. If you are planning to go on the trip, please
plan to be at this meeting.

Episcopal
Youth
Event
Our church is hosting the Senior High Episcopal Youth Event the weekend of Feb. 21st
- Feb. 23rd.
The theme for the weekend is "How We Worship." Registration forms and a $20
registration fee must be turned in to Alison by February 14th. If
you have questions about the weekend, you can talk to Gretchen Peck or Alison.

Meeting
February's
Youth Ministry meeting is scheduled for February
16th at 11 am in the parlor. Anyone interested in youth ministry
at St. John's is welcome to attend these meetings to provide feedback and think
of new ideas.

Ski
Trip
(6th-9th Grade)
St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Edina is hosting the 13th
Annual Junior High Ski trip to Giant’s
Ridge. The event will take place February 28th
- March 2nd and
is open to 6th - 9th graders in the Diocese. The downhill
package is $175 and the cross-country package is $145. Alison has registration
packets and additional information. If we have enough interest, Alison will
attend as a chaperone. Registration forms are due by February 1st.
Please talk to Alison as soon as possible if you plan to register.

Extra help is needed for the January BINGO game at the
White Bear Care Center. The set-up begins
this Saturday, January 18th at
1:00 pm. Please come join us!

Safety
Speakers
Youth
and their parents are invited to St. John's on Thursday, January 30th at
7 pm for a presentation on
Internet Safety. Patty Wetterling and
Nancy Sabin of the Jacob Wetterling Foundation will be here as our guest
speakers. This is a very timely topic and is presented in a non-fear-based
manner.

Teens
Encounter
Christ
The
Spring Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) Weekends are coming up. Students involved in confirmation should
attend an EYE, TEC, or
CLEC event before making the decision to be confirmed.
Please talk to me or to any of the youth that have participated in a TEC
weekend if you have questions about the weekend.
St. Paul TEC is open to 10th-12th
graders and will allow 9th graders as space allows. The St. Paul TEC
will be held at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in St. Paul on April 4th-6th.
Talk to Alison if you need registration forms. Team meetings will be held on
the four Saturdays prior to the TEC weekend.
Great North TEC is open to 9th-12th
graders. The Great North weekend will be held at
St. John's in St. Cloud on
March 14-16th. If you are planning to be on team for Great North,
you are encouraged to attend the planning weekend February 7th
- 8th
in St. Cloud. The registration forms and team forms for Great North TEC should
be mailed out next week.
