Acolyte
Festival
Registration
deadline is December 11th for 6th-12th graders
interested in attending the Diocesan Acolyte Festival January 11th-12th
at St. Mark’s Cathedral. It’s an overnight with training, dance, movies and
commissioning by the Bishop. Get your form online at www.episcopalmn.org
or pick one up from Alison.

Junior
High
Youth
Group
The
Junior High Youth Group will resume meeting on Wednesday nights beginning
January 8th from 7:00-8:00pm. Come and join us for games, fun, and
discussion.

Tentative
Mission
Trip
Dates
The
summer mission trip will be open to those entering 9th
grade-college. We are looking into both out of state and in state options.
Tentative dates for the trip are June 19th-June 26th.
Planning has begun at Senior High Youth Group meetings and more information
will follow.

Annual
Treasure
Hunt
Which
group will get its name engraved in the trophy this year? Mark your calendars
for January 11th at High Noon for the big event. Junior High
competes against Senior High for a day of treasure hunting competition. More
details in next month’s newsletter.

Christmas
Pageant
Ever
“Hey,
unto you a child is born!”
The
St. John’s Christmas Play is right around the corner. We will be performing
Friday, December 13th at 7:00pm and Saturday, December 14th
at 2:00pm. Admission is free. Come and get into the spirit of the season.

Youth
Fundraiser
This
Saturday, December 7th from 9:00am-12:00pm Junior and Senior High
youth will be providing child care for parents who need some extra alone time
during this Advent Season. Please call Alison if you would like to volunteer.
This Sunday will also be the last day to order wreaths and shirts.

Rite
of
Affirmation
Parents
of current 8th graders will be contacted about the Rite of Affirmation service
on January 12th. The Rite of Affirmation is a special liturgy
honoring the transition into the teenage years. All Senior and Junior high teens should plan to attend the 9:00 service
to witness and take part.

Senior
High
Design
Team
Invite
Planning is underway for a retreat open to 9th-12th graders in the
Diocese for February 21st-23rd at St. John in the Wilderness Church in White
Bear Lake.
Youth applications are being accepted for
those who would like to be on the design team to pick the theme and lead the
weekend. If interested, applicants should submit their name, contact
information, email address, parish name, one paragraph detailing why they would
like to participate, and one paragraph detailing the leadership gifts they will
bring to the event.
Applications are due December 9th and
leadership team members will be notified on December 13th. The first planning
meeting is scheduled for Sunday, December 22nd from 1-5pm.
