Out

to

Lunch

Thank

you!

Thank you to all of the Junior High youth and their parents who coordinated the September Out to Lunch. I heard that you did an amazing job and put smiles on many faces. Thank you for your ministry!

Acolyte

and

Lay

Training

We will be holding training on Sunday, October 27th at 12pm for individuals interested in becoming an acolyte and/or a lay reader. Please call Alison at church to sign up for the training, 651-429-5351.

Laramie

Project

Members of the Senior High youth group will be attending the play, “The Laramie Project” presented by St. Olaf College on Saturday, October 12th. We will leave church for the theater at 5pm. If you did not sign up and would still like to attend, please call Alison by October 7th. It may be possible to reserve extra tickets.

TEC

It is not too late to sign up for a fall TEC weekend. The weekends tend to fill up quickly, but there are still openings for the Great North Weekend (Oct. 18-20th in Hibbing) and the St. Paul weekend (November 15th-17th). Great North is open to those in 9th-12th grade and St. Paul is open to 10th-12th graders. Talk to Alison if you need an application to attend or have any questions.

October

13th

Service

The senior high youth group will be leading the communion hymn “Up Above My Head” for the 9am service on October 13th. If you would like to sing, please meet in Alison’s office at 8:30am on the 13th to run through the song and get volunteers for the solos.

BINGO

If you would like to help out with this month’s BINGO game, please come to the White Bear Care Center on Saturday, October 19th at 1:45pm. We can always use extra workers for this fun service project.

Junior

High

Surprise

Raking

Please bring a rake to the October 16th 7pm Junior High youth group meeting. We will be driving to different homes of people who need help with raking and surprise them with a job well done. If you know of someone living by the church who may need raking help, please talk to Alison. Adult drivers will be needed for this event.

Play

Meeting

There will be a meeting/reading for parts on October 13th at 4pm for anyone interested in being involved with the Winter Play, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” If you are planning to be out of town, please call Alison to set up a separate time to meet.

Thought

for

the

Month:

“Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make everyday are of such importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or a bridgehead from which the enemy may launch an attack otherwise impossible.”

– C.S. Lewis
