The Voice of St. John in the Wilderness, May 2002

WILDERNESS GARDEN CLUB

We’re ready!  We’ve had our first meeting, volunteers have signed up, and now the work begins.  If you have taken a walk around the church property lately, you may have noticed all the areas we now have that are devoted to gardens.  These areas, with their color and many different plants, add to the appeal of our Church grounds.  All this beauty takes much hard work, time and MONEY.  There are plans to hook up the underground watering system in the English Garden, mulch is needed in many of the areas and there are always plants that need to be replaced.  At this time, a bench in memory of Fr. Joe and a birdbath in memory of Charlie Moertel are being ordered.  If you would like to donate money to the Garden Club to help with maintenance and upkeep, please make out your check to St. John in the Wilderness and write Wilderness Garden Club in the note area.  Thanks to all for your help in keeping our Church grounds beautiful.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please call Barb Van Steen.
