EARLY EASTER CHOIR FORMING
With Easter about as early as it can be this year (March 31), our annual EASTER CHOIR began rehearsing on Wednesday, February 27.
That leaves only four more Wednesday nights before Easter Day: March 6, 13, 20, and 27. This year we shall begin rehearsing the Easter music (the "Hallelujah" chorus and other delights) around 8:00 p.m. each Wednesday, or after the scheduled Lenten programs being offered on Wednesdays.
Chancel Choir will convene, as usual at 7:00 p.m. Swelling its ranks will be greatly appreciated!
And why, pray tell, is Easter so early this year? Blame it on the moon. Here's the formula, as determined by the Nicene Council in A.D. 325: Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon (March 28 this year) after the first day of spring (March 20 this year). Easter can be as early as March 22, or as late as April 25.
