MARCH IS “C” MONTH

Thanks to all who have so generously contributed to the Food Shelf in January and February.  In keeping with our “alphabetical” giving plan, March is “C” month.

If you would like a few suggestions, you could pick up chili, Cheerios, chocolate cake mix, canned corn, and anything beginning with chicken in a can.  Please remember the ongoing need for foodstuffs in our community and add a few items to your shopping lists for the foodshelf.

UNITED THANK OFFERING

The United Thank Offering is a ministry of the Episcopal Church that provides a way for parishioners to give thanks to God for His many blessings.  Every year the total offering is between $2,500,000 - $3,000,000, all of which is used to fund projects at home and abroad.  Every coin is used to support grants for mission and ministry.

Blue mite boxes will be placed on the windowsills in the sanctuary during Lent.  We can all become contributors to UTO by offering thanks and prayers while dropping coins in the Blue Box.

UTO ingathering Sunday is April 18.  Each day during Lent continue to pray for “Thankful Coins” and “Thankful Hearts”.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

St. John in the Wilderness will again sponsor a Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, May 28.  Many of our members are regular donors who might want to schedule a future donation on that date.  Please consider giving blood as you are able.  There is no greater gift than the gift of life.
