FROM THE
SENIOR WARDEN
As
Lent calls us to
introspection, I think we owe deep thanks to the example and inspiration of our
wonderful young people of St. John’s over the past five years.
During that time, so many
more of our youth and children’s voices have been heard in song, in leading
prayers, in drama, and in sermons. Our
young people have become more active in worship, parish ministries,
Teens
Encounter Christ (TEC) retreats,
Cass Lake Episcopal Camp (CLEC), and other
activities, sometimes even serving as hosts.
Youth involvement in
these activities is the highest we’ve had in 10 years. St. John’s vibrates with our youth’s
commitment to Christ and to building community through service and
person-to-person connections.
Feel inspired?
Jane Kyle is coordinating a
“Caring
Meals” ministry in the parish. She
needs your help.
Let’s give back in
thanksgiving for the wonderful young people of this parish. By March 20, let’s have at least 20
volunteers on Jane’s “Caring Meals” list in the Parish Hall.
The “Caring Meals”
program is a simple but meaningful way for members in this community to reach
out to each other in celebration or in need.
This is also a simple but meaningful way for each of us to deepen our
own sense of person-to-person connections in this parish.
Food ministry
-- a simple
way to say “I care.” Thanks for signing
up soon on the board in the Parish Hall.
